Programs
This fund will support the enhancement of MET’s current program line-up including annual conferences, panel discussions, workshops, pertaining to addressing contemporary topics of interest to our community, both Muslim and non-Muslim alike. It also covers expenses associated with our Speakers Bureau in which we reply to invitations from the community at large, governmental agencies, K-12 schools, colleges, libraries, churches, synagogues, etc. with regards to Islamic faith and culture lectures, cultural competence training, and Islamophobia workshops. Programs also include interfaith and intra-faith programs that celebrate our diversity and help build bridges of compassion and understanding among our community members in the greater Portland metro area. Additionally, youth leadership and recreational programs under the umbrella of Oregon Muslim Youth (OMY) are an integral part of the funding goals for this component of MET’s Endowment Fund.
